Introducing our Renegade Academy, an intensive one-week bootcamp designed to give new founders everything they need to launch their startup with user-feedback, a go-to-market strategy and a tailored pitch, ready to raise a seed financing round.

We believe learning not only needs to continue as we stay home, but we need to accelerate the will to learn now more than ever. The economy is under pressure, and rather than accept defeat, we are calling for entrepreneurial mindsets and entrepreneurial energy to be the positive silver lining. In fact, we’re banking on it.

Is this the end of an 11-year bull market? Given the current macroeconomic climate, the programme has been built to address the obvious elephant in the room. Whereas, under normal circumstances, we’d be focusing the programme on helping entrepreneurs bring their business to launch, today it is built to address launching your startup in a bear market. Drawing on decades of private and startup sector experience, our own Huckletree senior team will be stepping into the virtual classroom leading each workshop with real-world case studies and exercises on how they’ve scaled businesses, nailed investor pitches, repositioned products, built a brand and achieved reach with limited resources.

Are you Renegade Academy ready?

Who is it for? For anyone who wants to build the future normal. You have a burning desire to launch your business and are looking to maximise this time of uncertainty and isolation, to advance your skills and be ready for whatever comes next.
What will I learn? By the end of the course, participants will have a clear vision for their business, a detailed business plan, a high-impact marketing strategy, a financial model and, importantly, a roadmap in place for a successful launch and fundraise. They will emerge with the knowledge and confidence to go forward and succeed - as well as a great network of passionate people to lean on as they take the plunge into startup world.
Why it matters? At Huckletree, we are experts at building businesses from the ground up. Since 2014 we have supported over 5000 startups on their entrepreneurial journey and our accelerator has helped 35 companies raise £7m+ in collective funding. During this time we have also been quietly but confidently building and scaling our own business - growing to 8 locations, employing 80+ people and sitting across three European markets. We currently have over 2000 members and 200+ start-ups in our community. We sit at the heart of the technology ecosystem, have an incredible team of in-house experts as well as access to a network of industry titans.

Renegade AcademySpeakers

Patrick has worked in media, publishing and tech for over 10 years and has significant experience of advising large media organisations on future strategy. He set up the Faber Academy, Guardian Masterclasses and the Mumsnet Events proposition as well as live offerings for other clients. He has consulted with Google, Conde Nast, Argent and Time Inc - and is the Event and Partnership Lead for Huckletree. He was the Event Director for CogX 2019 - Europe’s largest Festival of AI and Emerging Technology - which ran across 200,00 square feet of public realm space in King's Cross, London. Alongside his client work, he part-owns the Curious Arts Festival - chosen by the BBC as one of the 'eight extraordinary festivals beyond Glastonbury' - and Fringe By The Sea. He was selected by The Evening Standard as one of London's Most Influential People in 2013.

Hugo has 10+ years experience in high-growth VC backed businesses across domestic and international sales & marketing leadership roles. As Head of Global Sales at onefinestay, he helped drive its growth from launch phase to its acquisition by Accor Hotels 5 years later for $170 million. He then spent 2 year at last-mile logistics business Stuart Delivery from pre-UK launch to acquisition by Geopost in 2017. Before Huckletree, he served as Commercial Director for e-commerce marketplace Trouva, through to its $22m series B raise in 2019.

Jemma has 12 years of brand building and growth marketing for culture brands in Australia and the UK including Nike, Australian Football League and Sydney Opera House. Jemma was awarded the Cannes Young Lion for marketing in 2015 and recognised as the Young Marketer of the Year in Australia 2017 for her groundbreaking work on building the Women's League strategy for AFL.

Andrew is COO and Co-Founder at Huckletree. Whilst leading Huckletree's commercial, financial and investment activities, Andrew is tasked with expanding their member-base across the UK, Ireland and continental Europe, where the business now has over 3000 members. He also advises early-stage businesses across a wide range of sectors, helping them to fundraising, finance and strategy. Prior to Huckletree, Andrew was a private equity executive at global investment management firm Cambridge Associates, where he advised corporate pension and sovereign wealth funds on over $5 billion of private equity, venture and real estate fund investments. Andrew began his career as an analyst at Parkmaster Investments and JP Morgan Asset Management, where he focused on property acquisitions and asset management.

Lauren spent 6 years in customer facing business development roles at Thomson Reuters, spending 2 years running FinTech partnerships: working with startups, innovation teams and the wider ecosystem. Lauren focuses on Founder and member support at Huckletree, advising on growth strategy, fundraising goals and building networks around them.

Gaby is the CEO and Co-Founder of Huckletree. Inspired by New York's coworking scene, in 2014 she founded Huckletree to bring together London's most innovative startups, entrepreneurs and businesses. Gaby has become one of the industry's most exciting challengers - often being asked to share her opinions and (notoriously!) seeing the sector differently to competitors. Gaby was a recent speaker on the Future of Work at TedXMorganStanley and is an influential founder and advisor within London's technology ecosystem. Gaby leads the team across product, innovation strategy and brand vision. As Huckletree's CEO, Gaby spends the majority of her time recruiting top-level talent to join the team. She believes in the power of creating a strong team culture, and takes great pride in seeing her team enjoy their work environment.
