During times of uncertainty, we at Huckletree are definitely craving something deeper, more nourishing, more human.
Our event series, PURE JOY, celebrates inspiring artists, writers, thinkers and public intellectuals - providing an exclusive opportunity for our community to take a thought provoking and entertaining break from working life.
We are delighted to announce that our first PURE JOY event of 2021 will be with celebrated artist Max Wallis. Expect to be blown away by a writer who wants to get poetry into places it's not normally seen - and leave feeling enlightened, entertained and most of all, inspired.
About Max Max Wallis is a writer and artist based in East London. His first book of poetry Modern Love was nominated for the Polari Prize, and he has been described as a "poetry wunderkind" by Curious Arts Festival. Widely published in both poetry journals and magazines, Wallis wants to get poetry into places it's not normally seen. In 2017 he had poetry published by Vogue, did a talk at the Royal Opera House about heartbreak, collaborated with Topman twice, producing specially curated art pieces and poetry for their shows, and turned the underground at Regent's Park gay with poetry. His second book, Everything Everything, is a limited edition art piece, hand bound and typeset; it looks at millennial sexuality with a blast of reality. "Read this book," - Russell T Davies.
